  • Multivitamin and mineral complex, with potassium, and selenium (NS Liquid Life, NS Colloidal Minerals Plus, AI Selenium): A multivitamin and mineral complex provides all needed nutrients in balance. Potassium is essential for proper functioning of the adrenal glands. Selenium is a powerful antioxidant that protects the heart. Low levels of selenium have been found in this disorder.  For multivitamin and mineral complex, take as directed on label. For potassium, take 99 mg daily. For selenium, take 100–200 mcg daily. If you are pregnant, do not exceed 40 mcg daily.
  • S-adenosylmethionine (SAMe) OR NS St Johns Wort 2  caps 2-3 times daily: It Is a natural antidepressant and has a calming effect. Caution: Do not use if you have bipolar mood disorder or take prescription antidepressants. Do not give to a child under twelve. Take 400 mg twice daily.
  • Vitamin B complex, plus extra vitamin B1 (thiamine), and vitamin B6 (pyridoxine), and niacinamide (AI B Complex, EQ B Complex): Vitamin B complex helps maintain normal nervous system function. Vitamin B complex plus extra vitamin B1 (thiamine) helps reduce anxiety and has a calming effect on the nerves. Vitamin B6 is A known energizer that also exerts a calming effect. Niacinamide is important in the production of certain brain chemicals. In large doses, has a calming effect.  Niacin can be toxic in such high doses. For vitamin B complex, take as directed on label. For extra vitamin B1 (thiamine), take 50 mg 3 times daily, with meals. For vitamin B6, take Up to 50 mg twice daily, with meals. For niacinamide, take up to 35 mg daily.
  • Vitamin C (NS Liposomal Vitamin C): Necessary for proper function of adrenal glands and brain chemistry. In large doses, can have a powerful tranquilizing effect and is known to decrease anxiety. Vital for dealing with stress. Take up to 2,000 mg daily, in divided doses.
  • Vitamin E (EQ Initial E): Helps transport oxygen to brain cells and protect them from free radical damage.  Take as directed on label.
  • Zinc (EQ Zinc): Can have a calming effect on the central nervous system. Take up to 40 mg daily. Do not exceed a total of 40 mg daily from all supplements.
  • L Theanine (NS Focus & Relax): Calming affect without drowsiness

IMPORTANT:

  • Chromium picolinate (EQ Chromium Picolinate): Chromium deficiency can produce symptoms of anxiety. Take 200 mcg daily.
  • L-glutamine, and L-tyrosine, plus L-glycine: L-glutamine has a mild tranquilizing effect. L- tyrosine is important for anxiety and depression. L-glycine is necessary for central nervous system function. Caution: Do not take L-tyrosine if you are taking an MAO inhibitor drug. For L-glutamine, take 500 mg 3 times daily, on an empty stomach. Take with water or juice. Do not take with milk. Take with 50 mg vitamin B6 and 100 mg vitamin C for better absorption. For L-tyrosine, take 500 mg 3 times daily, on an empty stomach. For L-glycine, take 500 mg 3 times daily, on an empty stomach.

HELPFUL:

  • Essential fatty acids (NS Omega Complete 1-2 caps daily): Important for proper brain function. Take as directed on label.
  • Gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA) (AI GABA), plus inositol (NS Choline & Inositol): Necessary for proper brain function. Combined with inositol, has a tranquilizing effect. For gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA), take 750 mg twice daily. For inositol, take as directed on label.
  • Melatonin (NS Sleep Formula 3-4 caps 1 hour before bed): A natural sleep aid. Helpful when symptoms include insomnia. To start, take 2–3 mg daily, taken ½ hour before bedtime. If necessary, gradually increase the dosage until an effective level is reached.
