Hepatitis A

Hepatitis A is a highly contagious liver infection caused by the hepatitis A virus. The virus is one of several types of hepatitis viruses that cause liver inflammation and affect your liver’s ability to function. You are most likely to get hepatitis A from contaminated food or water or from close contact with a person or object that is infected. Mild cases of Hepatitis A does not require treatment. Most people who are infected recover completely with no permanent liver damage.

 Symptoms
Hepatitis A symptoms typically appear a few weeks after you have had the virus. But not everyone with hepatitis A develops symptoms. If you do, symptoms can include:
  • Unusual tiredness and weakness
  • Sudden nausea, vomiting and diarrhea
  • Abdominal pain or discomfort, especially on the upper right side beneath your lower ribs, which is over
  • your liver
  • Clay- or gray-colored stool
  • Loss of appetite
  • Low-grade fever
  • Dark urine
  • Joint pain
  • Yellowing of the skin and the whites of your eyes (jaundice)
  • Intense itching
These symptoms may be relatively mild and go away in a few weeks. Sometimes, however, hepatitis A results in a severe illness that lasts several months.

 Root Causes
  • Hepatitis A is caused by a virus that infects liver cells and causes inflammation
  • The virus spreads when infected stool, even just tiny amounts, enters the mouth of another person
  • (fecal-oral transmission). You may get hepatitis A when you eat or drink something contaminated with infected stool. You may also get the infection through close contact with a person who has hepatitis A.
  • The virus can live on surfaces for a few months. The virus does not spread through casual contact or by sneezing or coughing.
Here are some of the specific ways the hepatitis A virus can spread:
  • Eating food handled by someone with the virus who doesn’t thoroughly wash hands after using the toilet
  • Drinking contaminated water
  • Eating food washed in contaminated water
  • Eating raw shellfish from water polluted with sewage
  • Being in close contact with a person who has the virus — even if that person has no symptoms
  • Having sexual contact with someone who has the virus

 Nutritional Support Items

ESSENTIAL:

  • Alpha-lipoic acid (ALA) NS Alpha Lipoic Acid): Has antioxidant properties that protect the liver. Take as directed on label.
  • Beta-1,3-D-glucan (NS Liver Spleen Kidney 2 caps 3 times daily): An excellent antioxidant. Stimulates the activity of macrophages, which surround and digest cellular debris. Take as directed on label.
  • Amino acids (NS Amino Acid Complex 2 caps 2 times a day): To supply necessary protein. The liver breaks down protein; free-form amino acids take strain off the liver. Take as directed on label.
  • Glutathione, plus L-arginine, and L-cysteine, and L-methionine: Glutathione protects the liver. L-arginine detoxifies the liver.  L-cysteine and L-methionine detoxify harmful hepatotoxins and protect glutathione. For glutathione, take 500 mg twice daily, on an empty stomach. For L-arginine, take as directed on label. For L-cysteine and L-methionine, take 500 mg each twice daily, on an empty stomach. Take with water or juice. Do not take with milk. Take with 50 mg vitamin B6 and 100 mg vitamin C for better absorption.
  •  Inositol hexaphosphate (IP6) (NS Cellular Health 2 caps 3 times daily): A powerful antioxidant that has many positive effects on the body, including protecting the liver. Also known as phytic acid. Take as directed on label.
  •  Raw liver extract, or desiccated liver (NS Liver Support 2 caps 3 times daily OR NS Liver Spleen Kidney 2 caps 3 times daily): Promotes liver function. Take either as directed on label. Consider injections (under a doctor’s supervision).
  • S-adenosyl methionine (SAMe), or trimethylglycine (TMG): Promotes the health of the liver. Caution: Do not use if you have bipolar mood disorder or take prescription antidepressants. Do not give SAMe to a child under twelve. Needed for conversion of harmful homocysteine into methionine, the basis for production of SAMe. For either, take as directed on label.
  • Homeopathic Detox EQ Lymphastat V OR BL VBF Defense: Detox virus

VERY IMPORTANT:

  • Coenzyme Q10 ( EQ CoQ10, FGF CoMega) Counteracts immunosuppression and enhances tissue oxygenation. For coenzyme Q10, take 60 mg daily.
  • Lecithin granules or capsules: Protects cells of the liver and is a fat mobilizer. Aids in preventing fatty liver. For granules, take 1 tbsp 3 times daily, before meals. For capsules, take 1,200 mg 3 times daily, before meals.
  • Multivitamin and mineral complex (NS Liquid Life, NS Colloidal Minerals), with vitamin B complex,  plus extra vitamin B12, plus choline, and inositol (NS Choline & Inositol 2-6 caps daily): All nutrients are necessary to balance the body.. All B vitamins are absolutely essential for normal liver function. Injections especially of vitamin B12 and folic acid may be beneficial. For multivitamin and mineral complex, take as directed on label. For vitamin B complex, take 50–100 mg of each major B vitamin (thiamine and riboflavin) 3 times daily, with meals. Amounts of individual vitamins in a complex will vary. Do not exceed 35 mg niacin, 100 mg vitamin B6, and 1,000 mcg folate daily. For vitamin B12, choline, and inositol, take as directed on label.
  • Superoxide dismutase (SOD), (NS Superoxide Dismutase 2-6 caps daily): Powerful antioxidants that neutralize damaging superoxide free radicals, improving liver function. For either, take as directed on label.
  •  Vitamin C with bioflavonoids (NS Liposomal Vitamin C): A powerful antiviral agent. Studies show improvement quickly with high doses. Take up to 2,000 mg daily and up.
  • Vitamin E (EQ Initial E):  A potent antioxidant. Take 90 mg (200 IU) daily, or 180 mg (400 IU) every other day over the course of one month.

IMPORTANT:

  • Calcium (NS Coral Calcium), and magnesium (NS Magnesium Complex): Essential for blood clotting, which is a problem for people with liver disease.  For calcium, take 1,500 mg daily. For magnesium, take up to 350 mg daily.
  • Essential fatty acids (EQ Primrose oil): Important sources of essential lipids. To combat inflammation of the liver and lower serum fats. For any, take as directed on label.
  • Multienzyme complex, with betaine hydrochloride (HCl) (NS Digestive Enzyme Plus 2 caps with meals):  Important for proper digestion. Take as directed on label.

HELPFUL:

  • Maitake extract, or reishi extract, or shiitake extract (NS Immune Formula 2-6 caps daily or NS Liver Spleen Kidney 2 caps 3 times daily): To boost the immune system and fight viral infection. For any, take as directed on label.

 Reflexology
  • Liver:

    • The liver plays a crucial role in detoxification and metabolism. To support liver health, focus on the following reflexology points:
      • Liver Reflex Area: Located on the right foot, this area corresponds to the liver. Gently massage or apply pressure to the upper right side of your foot, just below the base of the toes.
      • Solar Plexus Reflex: Beneath the middle finger on both hands, you’ll find reflex points related to the liver. Apply gentle pressure to this area to promote liver function.
  • Spleen:

    • The spleen is involved in filtering blood and supporting the immune system. Here are the relevant reflexology points:
      • Spleen Reflex Area: Found on the left foot, this area corresponds to the spleen. Focus on the upper left side of your foot, just below the base of the toes.
      • Adrenal Reflex: The central portion of your hands (both palms) contains reflex points related to the spleen. Massaging this area can benefit spleen health.
  • Kidneys:

    • The kidneys are vital for filtering waste and maintaining fluid balance. Explore these reflexology points:
      • Kidney Reflex Areas: Both feet have reflex points for the kidneys. These points are located on the inner arch of the foot, near the center.
      • Lung Reflex: Interestingly, the lungs and kidneys share reflex points. These points are also found on both feet.

 Bio-Energetic Balancing Remedies Suggestions

Run a Liver/GB Scan and review the balancing items.  Use the Search Criteria to add Hepatitis A by setting the Type to Item and in search bar typing Hepatitis and selecting and adding the Hepatitis A signature to the Hold Tank.  Also, add symptoms the client is experiencing by Setting the Type to Description and in the search bar type the symptom (like nausea) and scan and add signatures 3-5 times for each symptom.  Also it is helpful to add the homeopathics listed above using the search criteria feature by setting type to Item and in the search bar type the homeopathic and select and add to the hold tank.  It would also be beneficial to load into a laser and target the liver area with the laser.  (Remember, they need to be on a liver drainage remedy like Nettle, Milk Thistle, Hydrangea etc.)

This is especially beneficial when a client is doing a footbath detox.
