IMPORTANT:
-
Calcium, and magnesium (NS Magnesium Complex 3 caps 1 hour before bed, NS Coral Calcium 3 caps 1 hour before bed): Calcium has a calming effect. Magnesium is needed to balance with calcium and relax the muscles. For calcium, take 1,500–2,000 mg daily, in divided doses, after meals and at bedtime. Use calcium lactate or calcium chelate form (do not use lactate form if you are allergic to dairy products). For magnesium, take up to 350 mg daily.
-
Melatonin (NS Sleep Formula 3-4 caps 1 hour before bed): Promotes a healthy sleep. Use it only occasionally and do not give it to children. Start with 1.5 mg daily, 30 minutes to 1 hour before bedtime. If this is not effective, gradually increase the dosage until an effective level is reached (up to 5 mg daily).
HELPFUL:
-
Vitamin B complex, plus extra vitamin B5 (pantothenic acid), and inositol, and niacinamide (EQ B Complex, AI B Complex, NS Choline & Inositol): Vitamin B complex helps to promote a restful state. Vitamin B5 (pantothenic acid) is good for relieving stress. Inositol enhances REM sleep. Niacinamide promotes serotonin production. For vitamin B complex, take as directed on label. Do not exceed 35 mg niacin, 100 mg vitamin B6, and 1,000 mcg folate daily. For vitamin B5 (pantothenic acid), take 50 mg daily. For inositol, take 100 mg daily, at bedtime. For niacinamide, take 100 mg daily.
- Vitamin C with bioflavonoids (NS Liposomal Vitamin C): Very important for reducing stress. Take 500 mg daily.
- Zinc (EQ Zinc): Aids in the recovery of body tissues while sleeping. Take 15 mg daily.

- Limit caffeine intake, especially in the afternoon or evening when its stimulant effects can keep you up at night.
- Moderate alcohol consumption since it can throw off your sleep cycles even if it makes you sleepy at first.
- Try not to eat too late so that you aren’t still digesting at bedtime and are at less risk of acid reflux. Be especially careful with spicy and fatty foods late in the evening.
- Your sleep environment and daily routines, known collectively as sleep hygiene, play a critical role in your ability to sleep well. A healthy sleep environment entails finding the best mattress, pillows, sheets, and decor to promote restful sleep.

An Mian: This is an “extra” point that is not located on a meridian. To find this point, go to the back of your head at the base of the skull. Move from the center line out until your finger finds a depression. Continue moving your finger forward until you dip in to another depression, behind the ear lobe. The point is located right in between these two depressions. The translated name of the point is “peaceful sleep” and as you might imagine, it is good for insomnia. It is also indicated for headaches, palpitations and emotional problems.
-
Stomach 36 (ST36): Named Zu San Li or “Leg Three Miles”. The point is located on the leg below the knee. If you place your four fingers below your knee cap, the point is located at this level, one fingers breadth to the outside of your shin bone. This point is widely used to increase a patient’s energy or Qi.
- Pericardium 6 (PC 6): This point is located about three fingers up from the wrist crease and is named Nei Guan or Inner Pass. It is indicated for anxiety, palpitations, emotional problems, insomnia and irritability among other things. It is said to calm the Heart and the spirit.
- Heart 7 (HT7): The name of this point is Shen Men or “Spirit Gate” and is specifically indicated for insomnia. It is also indicated for irritability, palpitations, mania, and dementia, among other things. The point is located on the pinky side of the wrist crease, on the inside of the ligament that attaches the hand to the arm.
- Yin Tang: This point is an “extra” point and while it is not technically part of a meridian, it does lie on the same line as the Governing Vessel points. It is located right in between the eyebrows and the name translates to Hall of Impression. This point is indicated for headaches and insomnia among other things. It is an incredibly calming point and is said to calm the spirit.

The best areas to focus on to regulate the sleep cycle are the glands; these include the pituitary, thyroid, and adrenals. The pituitary is the center for the body's hormones and regulates the circadian rhythm which is the sleep-wake cycle. The thyroid gland regulates the body's metabolism and the adrenal glands help the nervous system and blood sugar levels.
Other important areas are the diaphragm and solar plexus. These have a powerful effect on calming the body, getting it primed to slumber by regulating breathing and heart-rate.

Run a sleep disturbance scan. Use the Search Criteria to add neurological (1X) (serotonin, gaba) and hormonal imbalances (1X1). While in the Search Criteria add energies for the symptom insomnia and also add the above listed homeopathics. Address any nutritional deficiencies (especially Magnesium, Calcium, Inositol, Tryptophan etc.) Imprint into a correlating homeopathic. You may want to imprint the laser and focus on the above reflexology points.
Note: It may be beneficial to run the Pineal, Hypothalamus, Thyroid and adrenal scans in addition to the sleep disturbance scan if they were an imbalance in the Baseline/Comprehensive.
